Chip DeBlock

Chip was born and raised in Tampa, Florida in 1962 and graduated from the University of South Florida in 1983 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. He worked with the Tampa Police Department for 30 years (1983 – 2013) and retired as a detective. Chip is best known for his work in Organized Crime, Public Corruption, Adult Entertainment and being a Whistleblower.  He co-founded the LEOAFFAIRS.COM law enforcement website in 2002 which sold in 2014. Chip created the LEO Round Table law enforcement talk show on 12/14/2015 of which he is currently the host. 

Ken Afienko, Attorney

Ken received his B.A. in Criminology from U.S.F. before graduating from Stetson University College of Law in 1993. He has been a police officer in Florida (both fulltime and part-time) since 1982 and is still currently active. In addition to his law practice, Ken has served as General Counsel for the Fraternal Order of Police (Lodge 43) since 2002 and a Public Safety Administration professor at St. Petersburg College since 2010.

Mike Baldwin

Mike obtained his BS in Secondary Education & Teaching from Pensacola Christian College in 1983 and then his Masters in Business & Strategic Innovation from Ottawa University in 2020. He worked at the Surprise Police Department (AR) for over 20 years (2001-2022) and has a vast array of experience in many roles including as sergeant, detective and DEA Task Force officer. After retiring from law enforcement Mike became VP of Operations for Grossman ON Truth and works directly with the legendary Lt. Col. Dave Grossman.

Anthony Bandiero, Attorney

Anthony Bandiero is the Senior Legal Instructor for Blue to Gold Law Enforcement Training. He is also a Nationally Certified Instructor, and many consider him to be one of the best legal instructors in the nation. He has studied constitutional law for over twenty years and has taught search and seizure to over 30,000 officers around the country. Anthony’s education includes a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Harvard University. He graduated from Gonzaga School of Law in Spokane, Washington, and is a practicing member of the Washington and New Jersey State Bar. Anthony also has over 11 years of law enforcement experience, including being a sergeant, in the state of Nevada.

Bret Bartlett

Bret graduated from Northwestern State University with a Masters in Education and St. Leo University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. He is a former Marine and retired as a Captain with the Tampa Police Department after 32 years of service. Bret was the department’s lead firearms instructor and is certified in Florida as a police firearms instructor and G license instructor. He also holds numerous NRA firearms instructor ratings in both civilian and police categories and is a Certified Firearms Specialist.  Bret founded Ex Umbra Defense Solutions (EXUMBRADEFENSE.COM) which provides Private Investigation, Firearms Training, Security Services and Executive Protection.

Jamie Borden

Jamie retired as a sergeant with the Henderson Police Department (NV) with over 21 years of service in July of 2018. While there he developed and implemented the Use of Force Training and Analysis Position which evolved into a unit within the department. In 2010 he founded Critical Incident Review (CIR) and co-developed the Investigative Strategies & Cognitive interviewing process Certification Course. Jamie worked with Dr. William Lewinski and Force Science Institute before founding CIR and is currently court certified as an expert in the Following Topics: Controversial Use of Force, Police Performance Dynamics, Forensic Video Examination, Officer/subject movement dynamics, Controversial Officer-Involved Shootings, and Attentional Issues related to Officer Involved Critical Incidents, Police Training and Police Policy, Procedure and Practice.

Andrea Casale

Andrea graduated from the University of South Florida (USF) with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology in 2001 and interned with the U.S. Marshal’s Service.  She was immediately hired by the Tampa Police Department (Florida), had a passion for working the street and as a seasoned officer was utilized to mentor younger officers.  In November of 2019 Andrea was forced to medically retire as a Master Police Officer just shy of her 19 year anniversary.  She fought with a mentally ill subject who was resisting officers, tackled him and injured her knee. Although initially able to return to active duty after surgery, Andrea ultimately suffered additional injuries to the same knee during resists and obtained a disability retirement.

Sheriff David Clarke

Sheriff David Clarke attended the University of Wisconsin and received a B.A. in Management of Criminal Justice from Concordia University Wisconsin. He started with the Milwaukee Police Department in 1978 and retired as a Captain after 24 years of service. Sheriff Clarke was then appointed as Milwaukee County Sheriff in 2002 where he remained until 2017 (for 15 years). He is a news commentator and a highly sought after public speaker. Sheriff Clarke wrote the book Cop Under Fire: Moving Beyond Hashtags of Race, Crime and Politics For a Better America (on Amazon). Mark Crider

Sheriff Mark Crider graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in Natural Resources/Criminology and the University of Southern California with a Master’s degree in Safety and Systems Management. After being a naval flight officer with the U.S. Navy from 1984 – 1994, he worked with the FBI from 1996 – 2018 as a special agent and supervisory special agent in Milwaukee and Seattle in many capacities including a Joint Terrorism Task Force and a Foreign Counterintelligence/Counterterrorism Squad. After retiring from the FBI he joined the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office (WA) in 2018 and is currently the sheriff.

David D'Agresta

David retired from the Tampa Police Department as a master police officer with 20 years of service (1985 – 2005). He then retired from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office as a corporal with 7 years of service (2006 – 2013).  In 1987 David restrained B/M attacker Melvin Eugene Hair with a department approved Carotid Restraint Technique (CRT).  Hair’s subsequent (and arguably unrelated) death led to racial tensions and 3 days of rioting in Tampa.

Bob Kroll

Bob served with the Minneapolis Police Department from January 1989 to January 2021, retiring as a lieutenant after 32 years of service. He spent 15 years on the SWAT Team and 25 years on the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis Board, retiring as union President. Bob served 21 years in the US Army Reserve (from 1983 to 2004) and retired as a Sergeant First Class. He also obtained a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota. Bob is one of the most highly respected law enforcement officers and police union leaders in the country, known for “telling it like it is” despite politics and controversy.

Mike Matranga

Mike obtained a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University in 2000. He was an Adult Probation Officer in Galveston County FROM 2001 – 2004 and became a special agent with the U.S. Secret Service in 2004. Mike worked in Houston and in Washington, D.C. in many capacities including the Counter Assault Team, Special Operations Division and Presidential Protective Detail. He then moved to the Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management from 2016 – 2018 before retiring. He founded the M6 Global Defense Group in 2019 where he provides professional consulting and training.

Robert Mazur

Robert Mazur graduated from Wagner College with a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance. He was a special agent with the U.S. federal government from 1971 – 1998 and worked with the IRS, U.S. Customs Service and the DEA. Robert is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on the financial escapades of the underworld. He authored The New York Times Bestseller ‘THE INFILTRATOR’, his true-life infiltration of Pablo Escobar’s Medellin Drug Cartel and the Bank of Credit & Commerce International (BCCI). Robert then authored ‘THE BETRAYAL’, his true-life infiltration of the Cali Drug Cartel and factions of the Panamanian underworld. THE INFILTRATOR was turned into a major motion picture and THE BETRAYAL is doing the same.

John Newman

John R. Newman retired as Assistant Chief with the Tampa Police Department after 29 years in 2014.   He holds both a BA in Criminal Justice and an MA in American Studies from the University of South Florida.  John is also a graduate from the Southern Police Institute.  He has experience in patrol, tactical response team, narcotics, school resource program, criminal intelligence, internal affairs, financial budget system, training, recruitment, policy development, all specialty teams, large event planning, and major crime operations. John is currently Chief of Security and Emergency Management with one of the top ten largest school districts in the U.S..

Dan O'Kelly

Dan graduated from Indiana University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was a police officer in Portage, Indiana for 11 ½ years. Dan worked for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for 23 years and retired as a senior special agent. He has over 34 years of law enforcement experience and, since 1996, has been a full-time instructor of most facets of the field of firearms. In 2011 he founded the International Firearm Specialist Academy, Inc. and, in addition to being the company’s director, he is a firearm expert and consultant. Dr. Darrin Porcher

Dr. Darrin Porcher served in the U.S. Air Force (1986-1990) and retired from the U.S. Army Reserve after nearly a total of 24 years. He joined the NYPD in 1991 and retired as a lieutenant after 20 years of service. Dr. Porcher received his BA in Organizational Management from St. Josephs College and an MPA from Marist College. In 2012 he received his Doctorate Degree from Fordham University. Today Dr. Porcher is not only an adjunct professor for Pace University, but a nationally recognized criminal justice expert witness, consultant and media commentator.

Joe Raulerson

Joe graduated from Hillsborough Community College with an AA degree and from Tampa College with a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration. He was a certified Florida Department of Corrections Officer for three years. In 1979, he joined the Tampa Police Department where he worked for 27 years. He retired as a Master Sergeant with TPD in 2006 after working various assignments including 9 years as a Narcotics investigator, 1 year as Latent Burglary Detective, 7 years as a field Training Supervisor and many task forces including DUI, Prostitution and Auto Thefts. Joe was assigned to the Mayor’s Executive Protection Detail and was involved in 4 shootings that resulted in 2 deaths of bad guys.

Colin Schmitt

Colin obtained a BS in Accounting and a BBA in Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a MBA in Finance from D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. He was a Deputy U.S. Marshal (1994-1997) for over 3 years before joining the FBI (1997-2021) where he retired after being a supervisory special agent and unit chief for over 24 years. He founded Chronos Investigations in 2022 where his PI firm provides services throughout southern California.

Frank Sloup

Frank received a BS in Law Enforcement from Unity College and a MS in Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Frank was a sergeant with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office where he served for nearly 16 years and is currently a deputy with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office where he’s been since Nov 2017. Betsy Brantner Smith

Betsy obtained her 4-year degree from Western Illinois University and worked at the Naperville Police Department (outside of Chicago, IL) from Dec 1980 – May 2009 (28½ years), retiring as a sergeant. She has hosted various training programs and was a content expert for the Law Enforcement Network (LETN), is an on-air commentator and advisor for the PoliceOne Academy and was a featured character in the Biography Channel’s “Female Forces” reality show. Betsy has been a trainer for over 20 years, is the spokesman for the National Police Association, is a popular keynote speaker throughout the U.S. and teaches with her husband at Dave Smith & Associates “Winning Mind Seminars” at JDBuckSavage.com.

Dave (JD Buck Savage) Smith

Dave Smith attended the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated from the University of Arizona. He was a Tucson police officer from 1975 – 1978 and then joined the Arizona Department of Public Safety from 1978 – 1990 where he left as a Lieutenant. Dave is an internationally known speaker, writer and law enforcement expert. He is probably best known for creating the popular “Buck Savage” video training series in 1980. Randy Sutton

Matthew Thomas

Chief Deputy Thomas has served with the Pinal County Sheriff’s office in Florence, Arizona since 1993 (for over 30 years). He has experience in working assignments in Detention, Patrol, Traffic, Training, Academy, Narcotics, Anti-Smuggling, Motors and SWAT. C/D Thomas instructs in Close Quarters Tactics, Mexican Cartels, Undercover and Leadership and has worked with the NRA Life of Duty program. He graduated from the FBI National Academy on Organizational Leadership (Session 261) in 2015.

Dr. Travis Yates

Dr. Travis Yates obtained his B.S. and M.S. in Criminal Justice from Northeastern State University in 1992 and 1998 respectfully and a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University in 2023. He also attended the FBI National Academy in 2006 (class #227). Dr. Yates worked for the Tulsa Police Department (OK) from 1993 – 2023 and retired with the rank of Major. He also co-founded Vest For Life, Below 100, was president of ALERT International, was director of Precision Driving International and was executive director of Ten-Four Ministries, Inc.
