LEO Round Table is an internet based law enforcement talk show. This is episode 38, recorded on 04/25/2016, with the following on-air personalities: Chip DeBlock (Host), Luke Lirot (Attorney), Bret Bartlett, Mark Hopper, Dan O’Kelly, Bobby Alsip and Charles Humphrey. We produce two 30 minute shows each week that are normally released on our YouTube channel Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to your host, the other panelists (except for attorney Luke Lirot) are active or retired law enforcement officers as well.

Topic 1 concerns a shout-out to Coppell, Texas Police Officer Peter Dirks who is donating one of his kidneys to Officer Jim Turner, a fellow cop at his agency.

Topic 2 concerns Sheriff Mike Williams at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office dropping the requirement that recruits must have a 4-year college degree. Sheriff Williams is also allowing prior military and law enforcement officers without degrees to be considered for employment.

Topic 3 concerns states (including Hawaii) initiating legislation that would clarify the public’s right to photograph or to film police officers, even though protections already exist in the First Amendment. Quoted in the story is American Civil Liberties Union Senior Policy Analyst Jay Stanley, National Conference of State Legislatures representative Richard Williams and Honolulu Police Department Captain John McCarthy.

Topic 4 concerns the right of law enforcement officers to seize recording devices according to the First, Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments. The original story was written by international law enforcement trainer and writer Val Van Brocklin who is also a former state and federal prosecutor.

Topic 5 concerns Escobedo (Mexico) Police Officer Nildo Garcia who took a photo of herself while on-duty and in uniform with both breasts exposed. She was holding a rifle in her patrol car at the time and the photograph went viral on Facebook.

Topic 6 concerns two videos of Clinton Sizemore Jr. exiting his truck in front of the Clay County Police Department (Kentucky), pulling his pants down to moon officers, flipping them off, and then getting back in his truck and driving a way. He was arrested and charged with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and reckless driving.

Topic 7 concerns an internal affairs investigation at the Metropolitan Police Department after reports that a sergeant secretly ordered an officer to pull the trigger of a gun at another officer’s head during roll call. The officer allegedly followed the order as part of a training exercise about situational awareness. Quoted in the story is Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier, MPD Spokesman Sean Hickman and former Fairfax County Police Officer & FBI Special Agent Michael Tabman.

Topic 8 concerns an Athens, Georgia man by the name of Blake Leland Zengo who allegedly sprayed a 20-year-old female in the face with a bottle of flatulence spray. He was arrested by Athens-Clarke County for disorderly conduct, public intoxication and underage consumption of alcohol.
