LEO Round Table is an internet based law enforcement talk show. This is episode 24, recorded on 03/07/2016, with the following on-air personalities: Chip DeBlock (Host), Luke Lirot (Attorney), Bret Bartlett, Mark Hopper, Bobby Alsip and Charles Humphrey. We produce two 30 minute shows each week that are normally released on our YouTube channel Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to your host, the other panelists (with the exception of Attorney Luke Lirot) are active or retired law enforcement officers as well.

Topic 1 concerns a retired LAPD police officer being forced to turn over what might prove to be the murder weapon OJ Simpson used to kill Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. A folding Buck knife was reportedly found on the grounds of OJ Simpson’s Brentwood home by a construction worker while it was being demolished back in the late 1990’s. The construction worker allegedly gave the rusted knife (with possible blood on it) to an off-duty LAPD cop who was working an assignment across the street at the time. The off-duty cop, who is now retired from the LAPD, waited all this time before contacting a friend in the Robbery Homicide Division about the knife because he was framing it to place on his wall. The friend told his supervisors and they forced the retired cop to turn the knife over. Authorities are now testing the knife.

Topic 2 is an update on Broward (Florida) Sheriff’s Deputy Peter Peraza who was suspended and indicted after killing Jermaine McBean when he pointed an unloaded air rifle at deputies.

Topic 3 concerns the NYPD working with New York colleges and students to develop and test new “smart gun” technologies. This idea came from Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams after the murders of NYPD police officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos in 2014.

Topic 4 concerns Montgomery (Alabama) Police Officer Aaron “A.C.” Smith being charged with murder in the shooting death of Gregory Gunn. According to Chief Ernest Finley, Officer Smith shot Gunn after a struggle, chase and possible mistaking a painter’s stick as a weapon.
