Topic 1 concerns Ventura County (California) Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Helus who was shot by David Long 5 times during an active shooter incident at the Borderline Bar & Grill. It was the 6th bullet however, received from a California Highway Patrol officer’s rifle, that killed him.
Topic 2 concerns former Miami-Dade (Florida) Police narcotics Det. Edwin Diaz suing Professional Compliance Bureau Sgt. Matthew Fryer and Deputy Chief of Special Investigations Howard Rosen for defamation and malicious prosecution. Reference was also made to Det. Armando Socarras in the story.
