LEO Round Table is an internet based law enforcement talk show. This is episode 29, recorded on 03/21/2016, with the following on-air personalities: Chip DeBlock (Host), Luke Lirot (Attorney), Bret Bartlett, Mark Hopper, Dan O’Kelly and Bobby Alsip. We produce two 30 minute shows each week that are normally released on our YouTube channel Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to your host, the other panelists (with the exception of Attorney Luke Lirot) are active or retired law enforcement officers as well.
Topic 1 concerns a rash of ambush killings of law enforcement officers. Quoted in the story is Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Executive Director James Pasco and Terry Cunningham who is both the Wellesley (Massachusetts) Chief of Police and the Internal Association of Chiefs of Police president.
Topic 2 concerns the allegation of ISIS (i.e. Caliphate Cyber Army) producing a “kill list” with plans to kill Minnesota law enforcement officers.
Topic 3 concerns the Anonymous hacker group known as Anon Verdict releasing personal information of more than 27 Montgomery (Alabama) police officers and their families as well as 52 Cincinnati (Ohio) police officers. Mentioned in the story is Montgomery Police Officer Aaron Smith who shot black male Gregory Gunn.
Topic 4 concerns California law enforcement officers being upset with the aftermath of Proposition 47 passing in 2014. Proposition 47 dealt with reducing prison overcrowding, but the result is an increase in crime that LEOs now have to deal with. Quoted in the story is El Cerrito Police Chief Sylvia Moir.
Topic 5 concerns 3 brothers who took part in an attack on a police station in Landover, Maryland. Gunman Michael DeAndre Ford open fired on an ambulance, vehicles and the doors of the police station while his brothers (Malik Ford and Elijah Ford) recorded the incident on their cellphones. Detective Jacai Colson was killed in an exchange of gunfire and, although shot, Michael Ford survived. All three brothers were arrested. Quoted in the story is Prince George’s County Police Chief Henry Stawinski III.
Topic 6 concerns supervisors with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department wanting to get paid for changing in and out of their uniforms. Quoted in the story is attorney Philip C. Monrad.
Topic 7 concerns Milwaukee County (Wisconsin) Sheriff David Clarke releasing a video of presidential candidate Governor John Kasich violating a traffic law and later publically slamming the Officer Robert Barrett for writing him a ticket (while denying he committed the offense that was videotaped via dash cam surveillance).
Topic 8 concerns Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office raiding the Grand Isle Police Department, both of which are in Louisiana. Quoted in the story is Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand and Grand Isle Police Chief Euris DuBois.
