Topic 1 concerns a new study that has concluded the real reason for a spike in homicides and shootings in Chicago (Illinois) is because of a reduction in proactive stops by Chicago Police officers. The 96-page study discovers that the proactive stops drastically declined at the end of 2015 and stayed there. But the most damaging information is the fact that the Chicago Police Department entered into an agreement with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) that required officers to complete a 2-page form with 70 entries for every investigatory stop made. The completed forms and data are then forwarded to the ACLU for database entry. The Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS) was referenced in the article.

Topic 2 concerns an update on no charges being filed against the unnamed Kansas police officer who shot Andrew Finch on a swatting (fake) call. Reference was made to defendant Tyler Barris who was charged with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly making the swatting call.

Topic 3 concerns an update on Chicago (Illinois) Police Detective David March, former Officer Joseph Walsh and Officer Thomas Gaffney seeking a bench trial instead of a jury trial in reference to their charges from the fatal shooting of Laquan McDonald. Officer Jason Jason Van Dyke is also referenced in the story.
