Topic 1 concerns U.S. Representative William Lacy Clay (a Democrat) refusing to remove a controversial painting hanging in a tunnel connected to the U.S. Capitol building that depicts cops as pigs. However, Representative Duncan Hunter (a Marine) personally took the painting down. The painting is known as “Untitled #1” and was painted by David Pulphus to represent social injustice, Ferguson and inequality. St. Louis County Police Association President Joe Patterson and Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff’s President Ron Hernandez are quoted in the story.
Topic 2 concerns New Mexico State University Police Officer Jarrod Colliver being cleared in an on-duty shooting. County District Attorney Mark D’Antonio was referenced in the story.
