Topic 1 concerns the FBI raiding the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Hammond Police Department (in Louisiana) as part of a Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation of a DEA federal task force.

Topic 2 concerns a Virginia state court ruling that the Petersburg Police Department’s social media policy is unconstitutional and that it violated officers’ first amendment rights. Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III is quoted in the story.

Topic 3 concerns a video of Bossier City (Louisiana) Police Sergeant Kenneth Johnson when he pulled over Malik Wortham and Nathan Birdwell. Passenger Wortham pointed his gun at Sgt. Johnson through an open window and pulled the trigger twice, but the gun misfired. Sergeant Johnson returned fire, hitting Wortham three times including in the head.

Topic 4 concerns East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Tullier who was shot three times in a July 17th ambush attack by gunman Gavin Long. After months of intensive treatment, doctors are now planning his rehabilitation.

Topic 5 concerns the accidental discharge of a Lafayette Parish (Louisiana) Sheriff’s deputy that left four other deputies injured.
