Topic 1 concerns U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit Judge Alex Kozinski who stated that he believes the act should match the punishment. Judge Kozinski supports firing squads and guillotines as forms of the death penalty. Reference is made to CBS’ 60 Minutes.
Topic 2 concerns two (2) Logan County (Arkansas) Sheriff’s deputies being suspended without pay for shooting and killing a suffering black bear after it had been run over by a car. Sheriff Boyd Hicks is quoted in the story.
