Topic 2 concerns two videos involving the White County (Tennessee) Sheriff’s Department. The first video shows Smithville Police attempting to pull over motorist Michael Dial which turned into a pursuit with help from Dekalb County Sheriff’s deputies. White County Sheriff’s deputies took over the pursuit and Reserve Deputy Adam West and another deputy fatally shot Dial after he was forced off of the road. The second video audibly records comments Sheriff Oddie Shoupe made after the shooting and which he is being sued for. District Attorney Bryant Dunaway is referenced in the story.
