Topic 1 concerns the FBI “Operation Rockfish” sting that netted a 54-count federal indictment against 13 current and former North Carolina law enforcement officers (plus two others). The defendants are accused of protecting narcotics shipments and cash proceeds in transit along the East coast for drug traffickers that were really FBI agents. U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District Thomas Walker is mentioned in the story.
Topic 2 concerns New York Police officers Sasha Cordoba and Kevin Desormeau being indicted for allegedly making false statements in an arrest on gun charges. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. is quoted in the story.
