Topic 1 concerns an article by West Jordan (Utah) Police Chief Ken Wallentine concerning whether or not officers are justified in shooting a man with a gun to his own head. It cites Partridge v. Benton in the 8th circuit where Keagan Schweikle had a gun in his right hand and raised up to his right temple. A police officer repeatedly ordered Schweikle to drop the gun and fatally shot him when he began to move the gun away from his head. Objectively reasonably and qualified immunity are referenced in the article.
