Topic 1 concerns a video of Los Angeles (California) Police (LAPD) officers confronting stabbing suspect Bryan Rodriguez. Rodriguez refused to comply with law commands and throws a potted plant and a chair at officers before jumping on a roof and briefly escaping to a backyard. Officers deployed Tasers and bean-bag rounds at the suspect multiple times with little or no effect. Finally, when he raised a pickaxe above his head and moved towards officers, he was fatally shot.
Topic 2 concerns a viral Facebook video of an off-duty Sutter County (California) Sheriff’s deputy who intervened after a woman escaped from a man who was choking her from behind inside a car at a Walmart parking lot. The unnamed deputy pulls his firearm at the suspect and the suspect makes at least one (1) attempt to grab the weapon.
