LEO Round Table is an internet based law enforcement talk show. This is episode 30, recorded on 03/28/2016, with the following on-air personalities: Chip DeBlock (Host), Luke Lirot (Attorney), Bret Bartlett, Mark Hopper, Bobby Alsip and Charles Humphrey. We produce two 30 minute shows each week that are normally released on our YouTube channel Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to your host, the other panelists (with the exception of Attorney Luke Lirot) are active or retired law enforcement officers as well.
Topic 1 concerns law enforcement obtaining court orders for DNA information from customers of ancestry research companies like ANCESTRY.COM and 23ANDME. Named in the story is Michael Usry Sr. whose records were subpoenaed, his son Michael Usry Jr. who was subsequently interrogated and forced to submit DNA via a warrant and Angie Dodge who was raped and murdered in 1996.
Topic 2 concerns a list of updates, followed by discussion, on the following: 1) the Brussels Islamic Terror attack with 34 dead, over 170 injured and police in Belgium raiding suspected terror cells; 2) an increase of law enforcement officers purchasing professional liability insurance due to concerns of law suits from their work related actions; 3) a surge of sex offenders in the form of illegal immigrants coming across the U.S./Mexico border and 4) the Chicago Police Department being outraged over an off-duty cop being robbed and shot by convicted felon Samuel Harviley who was an early release from prison.
Topic 3 concerns 16-year-old Robert Dentmond who was shot and killed by Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies while in possession of a replica AR-15 style assault rifle.
