LEO Round Table is an internet based law enforcement talk show. This is episode 45, recorded on 05/16/2016, with the following on-air personalities: Chip DeBlock (Host), Luke Lirot (Attorney), Bret Bartlett, Dan O’Kelly, Bobby Alsip and Charles Humphrey. We produce two 30 minute shows each week that are normally released on our YouTube channel Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to your host, the other panelists (except for attorney Luke Lirot) are active or retired law enforcement officers as well.

Topic 1 concerns the question of whether or not law enforcement officers have too many tools at their disposal. The increased complication of the Use of Force Continuum is discussed as well as more options creating greater decision making times. Quoted is author Laura King.

Topic 2 concerns an underage sex scandal at the Oakland (California) Police Department. Oakland Police Officer Brendan O’Brien committed suicide in September 2015 and left a note with information that led to the investigation. There is an investigation involving three (3) officers and an accusation that Celeste Guap had underage sex with potentially dozens of police officers (which could constitute statutory rape).

Topic 3 concerns a 16-year-old Chicago gang member who was shot and killed by police. According to Chicago police, Pierre Loury was pulled over on suspicion of being involved in a shooting. He fled from the vehicle and pointed his gun at police before they shot and killed him. Protesters are claiming the killing was racially motivated.

Topic 4 concerns a “shout out” to Plymouth County (Massachusetts) Deputy James Creed who shot and killed Arthur J. DaRosa when he ran into a restaurant and started stabbing a waitress and school teacher.

Topic 5 concerns Maricopa County (Arizona) Sheriff Joe Arpaio being found in contempt of court by U.S. District Judge Murray Snow over racial profiling issues.

Topic 6 concerns Jessie Kinsinger who ran from police and hid in a lake with alligators. He lost three-quarters (3/4) of one of his arms.

Topic 7 concerns the Kern County (California) Sheriff’s Office settling a civil lawsuit for $1 million which is the second lawsuit they have settled in just five (5) days. Deputy Gabriel Lopez was convicted of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman in this attack and sentenced to two (2) years in prison. He was also convicted for another similar assault on another woman and is being civilly sued for allegedly sexually assaulting a third woman who is 79-years-old and is now deceased. The department is also being accused of routinely attempting to payoff women with cash who have accused deputies of sexual assault.

Topic 8 concerns a “shout out” to St. Pete (Florida) Police Officer Benji DeJesus.
