LEO Round Table is an internet based law enforcement talk show. This is episode 6, recorded on 01/04/2016, with the following on-air personalities: Chip DeBlock (Host), Luke Lirot (Attorney), Mark Hopper, Bret Bartlett, Dan O’Kelly and Bob Alsip. We produce two 30 minute shows each week that are normally released on our YouTube channel Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to your host, the other panelists (except for attorney Luke Lirot) are retired law enforcement officers as well.
Topic 1 concerns an article written by Mike McDaniel on BEARINGARMS.COM titled “The ‘Ferguson Effect’ Strikes Kentucky”. A recent incident involving a melee of up to 2,000 young people at Mall St. Matthews was covered. Even though St. Matthews officers called for backup, they were outnumbered and no arrests were made.
Topic 2 concerns an article appearing on KCRA.COM detailing Black Lives Matter protestors making demands from the Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones after the shooting death of Adriene Ludd. Ludd was a 36 year old black male who was shot after leading sheriff’s deputies on a car chase. He exited his vehicle with a Tec 22 firearm and a high capacity magazine containing 30 rounds and pointed it at officers before being shot.
Topic 3 concerns recently released statistics on police deaths for 2015.
Topic 4 concerns a controversial cartoon published in The Courier Journal. The cartoon is titled “A Christmas Story: The Other Side of Town” and was drawn by Marc Murphy. It features a conversation between Tamir Rice and his mother where she is against his desire to get a BB gun because a cop will shoot him and get away with it.
Topic 5 concerns Oberlin (Ohio) police officers being commended for safely arresting 3 juveniles and seizing 5 BB guns that looked like real guns. Patrolman Ray Feuerstein, Ptl. Bashshar Wiley and Sgt. Patrick Durica observed one of the boys remove a gun from his waistband to show to his friends. They shouted verbal commands to the compliant group of boys, made arrests and seized the weapons.
