LEO Round Table is an internet based law enforcement talk show. This is episode 60, recorded on 07/18/2016, with the following on-air personalities: Chip DeBlock (Host), Charles Humphrey and David D’Agresta. We produce two 30 minute shows each week that are released on our YouTube channel Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to your host, the other panelists are retired law enforcement officers as well.
Topic 1 concerns the ambush killing of three (3) Baton Rouge (Louisiana) police officers and wounding of three (3) other police officers by gunman Gavin Long. Long was a black male and former Marine who reportedly believed that people must fight back after the deaths of black men at the hands of police. Long also formerly belonged to the Nation of Islam. The referenced killings are believed to be Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge (Louisiana) and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights (Minnesota). Killed in the encounter were Baton Rouge Police officers Corporal Montrell Jackson and Officer Matthew Gerald plus East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brad Garafola. Critically injured by gunfire was East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy Nicholas Tullier and also injured from the same agency was Deputy Bruce Simmons and an unknown Baton Rouge Police officer. The gunman, Gavin Long, was killed by a SWAT team sniper at the scene.
Topic 2 concerns the ACLU of Louisiana and other local groups filing a lawsuit against the Baton Rouge Police Department as well as other agencies after protesting in Baton Rouge. Quoted in the story is Louisiana Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild President Alison Renee McCrary and ACLU of Louisiana Executive Director Marjorie Esman.
Topic 3 concerns the arrest of three (3) men and one (1) juvenile who were arrested for stealing guns from a pawn shop for the purpose of killing police officers. Among the arrested were Antonio Thomas, Malik Bridgewater and Trashone Coats. Quoted in the story is Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie and East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Sid Gautreaux.
Topic 5 concerns Fresno (California) Police officers fatally shooting Dylan Noble after he refused to follow commands from officers as he walked towards them while holding an object hidden behind his back. Quoted in the story is Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer.
