Topic 1 concerns Davie (Florida) Police Chief Dale Engle who told his officers that a Broward County Sheriff’s deputy Shannon Bennett’s death from COVID-19 was the result of his homosexuality. Chief Engle was placed on administrative leave for his comments. Town of Davie Administrator Richard Lemack launched an investigation after receiving a letter, detailing the events, from the Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council Committee.

Topic 2 concerns Santa Rosa Police Detective Marylou Armer, being denied COVID-19 testing on two separate occasions by medical personnel. She was finally granted testing, but it was too late. Armer fell into a coma and ended up succumbing to the disease.

Topic 3 concerns a viral video of a Philadelphia man being dragged off a bus for not wearing a protective COVID-19 mask. After the video became viral, The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), decided the temporary rule was no longer necessary. Health Commissioner Thomas Farley is quoted in the story.

Topic 4 concerns two (2) videos: 1) a man who sucker-punched a police officer in Brooklyn, New York, NY. Officials say Nelson Jimenez, punched an NYPD officer in the back of the head as they were arresting an individual suspected of burglary. Jimenez fled the scene, but was later caught and charged with assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct, obstructing government administration and other charges. NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea is quoted in the story and suspect Yoemdy Castro is referenced. 2) Essential worker Brandee Isom struck a NYPD cop during the above incident and was punched by the police officer and arrested as a result. Her attorney, Iliana Santiago, is referenced in the story and the video is listed below.
