Topic 1 concerns a new study by the Crime Prevention Research Center determining that the number of carrying concealed weapons permits has jumped to more than 17.25 million this year (2018) in the United States. That’s an increase of 890,000 since last year (2017). Reference was made to founder John Lott in the story as well as comparisons between Obama’s presidency and Trump’s. The Pew Research Center is also highlighted.

Topic 2 concerns the New York Sergeants Benevolent Association paying Good Samaritans $500 to assist police in violent or difficult arrest situations. It’s called the “Help a Cop” incentive program and SBA President Ed Mullins is referenced in the story as well as New York Senator Martin Golden. The NYPD is not in favor of this new program.
