Topic 1 concerns Forth Worth (Texas) Police officers fired and disciplined after ignoring Christopher Lowe’s complaints about medical issues before he died while handcuffed in the backseat of a patrol car. Officers T. Stephens, D. Pritzker, C. Golden, H. Fellhauer and M. Miller were terminated and officers S. Smith and A. Scharf were suspended.

The bill would require the Department of Criminal Justice to have statewide training standards dealing with PTSD and other personal mental health issues.

Topic 4 concerns Senate Bill 2633 signed into law by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker. It requires departments to have crisis intervention services to prevent PTSD in first responders who are dealing with psychological trauma.
