Topic 1 concerns Bridgeport (Connecticut) Police Chief Armando “A.J.” Perez prohibiting the word “POLICE” from appearing on department uniforms. Sergeant Chris Robinson, who is publicly opposed to the chief’s policy for safety reasons, has been suspended.
Topic 2 concerns a video of off-duty Brazilian military police officer Sgt. Rafael Souza who confronted two (2) armed robbers in a Sao Paulo (Brazil) pharmacy while holding his infant son and shopping with his wife. A shootout ensued on video while Sgt. Souza was holding his son and both armed robbers were pronounced dead.
Topic 3 concerns the City of Peabody (Massachusetts) reportedly settling with former fire dispatcher John Brophy who was fired for falling asleep during a 911 call where a 6-month-old infant stopped breathing. An arbitrator ruled that that the City had to hire him back, but he failed to submit to a drug test and was fired again.
