Topic 1 concerns the Federal Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit agreeing with a lower federal court and backing Cedar Falls (Iowa) Police Officer Bob Anderson in an excessive force lawsuit from Zachary Church whom Off. Anderson shot 3 times. This is an amazing ruling that supports law enforcement, addresses instances when LEOs fail to activate audio-visual equipment, supports Graham v. Connor, leans in favor of officers who are out-weighed/sized by suspects, does not require officers to “pursue the most prudent course of conduct as judged by 20/20 hindsight vision” and addresses warning and failure to warn suspects before shooting them.
