Baltimore PD commissioner & union argue over filming
Train like your life depends on it!
Topic 1 concerns Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 3 President Mike Mancuso attempting to send out an email to members of the Baltimore (Maryland) Police department informing them that Commissioner Michael Harrison had implemented a new policy of audio and video recording their current Stop, Seizure and Arrest training and how to handle themselves because of it. The email was blocked by the Baltimore Police Department and prevented from going out.
Topic 2 concerns an article written by Ron LaPedis for PoliceOne.com titled “Train Like Your Life Depends On It”. Reference was made to SHOT Show LEEP sessions, “Deliberate Practice: If it Doesn’t Challenge You, It Doesn’t Change You”, “Weapon Retention and Presentation from Close Quarter Combat”, Swedish psychologist K. Anders Ericsson, researchers Robert Rosenthal and Lenore Jacobsen.
