Topic 1 concerns the Fourth District Court of Appeal in Florida contradicting another Florida appeals court by determining that Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Peter Peraza and other police officers are entitled to immunity under the state’s Stand Your Ground law as private citizens. Reference is made to the Florida Supreme Court, Circuit Judge Michael Usan and the fatal shooting of Jermaine McBean who was armed with an air rifle. Reference was also made to the Second District Court of Appeal and Haines City Police Officer Juan Caamano.

Topic two concerns the Florida Supreme Court ruling that Governor Rick Scott has the power to reassign cases from State Attorney Aramis Ayala. Governor Scott has reassigned more than 25 cases from State Attorney Ayala. Ayala refuses to seek the death penalty in any homicide case including defendant Markeith Loyd who was convicted of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend and Orlando Police Lieutenant Debra Clayton.
