Topic 1 concerns a video of Forth Worth (Texas) Police Officer Aaron Dean conducting a perimeter check in a fenced in backyard while on a welfare check call at night. The officer fatally shoots resident Atatiana Jefferson when he observes her through a window and is believed to have seen her holding a firearm. Officer Dean has been arrested and charged with murder. Interim Police Chief Ed Kraus, Governor Greg Abbott and Mayor Betsy Price were quoted in the story.
