Topic 1 concerns the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA and a.k.a. HR-218) Reform Act of 2019. LEOSA was signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2004 and it was amended in 2010 and 2013. This Law Enforcement Officers Safety Reform Act, also known as H.R. 1156, was introduced to Congress by Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon on 02/13/2019. It’s purpose is to fix many of the shortcomings of today’s LEOSA.
