Topic 1 concerns a graphic video of U.S. Navy veteran Richard Rojas driving through a crowd of pedestrians for 3 blocks in Times Square. After killing an 18-year-old girl and wounding 22 others, Rojas was apprehended by a New York Police officer with help from civilians. Mayor Bill de Blasio is quoted in the story.

Topic 2 concerns black Montgomery County (Alabama) Circuit Judge Greg Griffin who is refusing to recuse himself from the murder trial of white Montgomery Police Officer Aaron Cody Smith after making racial police comments on Facebook. Officer Smith is charged in the shooting death of Greg Gunn.
