Topic 1 concerns a video of Coral Springs Police officers Paul James and Nicole Hildebrandt in a fight with a 14-year-old girl they were trying to arrest at Coral Square Mall. Officer James is seen on video punching the girl several times in her side to gain compliance. The officer was cleared and the teenage girl’s mother, Jessica Dennis, appeared on Good Morning America complaining about the use of force. Attorney Meeghan Moldof is referenced in the story.
Topic 3 concerns the city of West Linn (Oregon) being ordered by an arbitrator to pay $120,000 in lost wages to former police officer Tom Newberry after he was fired for making a controversial Facebook post.
Topic 3 concerns former Cleveland (Ohio) Police Officer Timothy Loehmann who fatally shot teenager Tamir Rice. He has rescinded his application to the Bellaire Police Department due to political pressure according to Cleveland Police Patrolman’s Association President Jeff Follmer.
Topic 4 concerns a video of El Paso (Texas) Police Officer Jose Rivas pulling his firearm and pointing it at a group of children. Although the officer was cleared by his department, parents have filed a lawsuit against Off. Rivas.
Topic 5 concerns charges being dropped against former Bellevue (Washington) Police Officer John Kivlin after it was determined that his Craigslist accuser fabricated evidence. Former Off. Kivlin was accused of assault, violating a protection order and other criminal acts (there were a total of 7 charges). The same female accuser allegedly made false rape allegations in 2009 and 2010. In addition, two (2) other Bellevue police officers have been accused of sexual misconduct by this same woman (including the department’s chief of police).
