Topic 1 concerns Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore who stated in an interview that it was okay for a person to point their firearm at a police officer if the officer pointed their gun at the person first.
Topic 2 concerns a “shout out” to Los Angeles County (California) deputies Arnulfo Aguirre and Vladimir Vasquez as well as to Pasadena (California) police officer John Calderon. They saved the life of Jonathan Staffeldt by administering the Heimlich Maneuver while he was choking on food in a restaurant.
Topic 3 concerns an update to a previously discussed topic involving transgender bathroom access. The Obama administration is now telling public schools that they must permit transgender students to use not only bathrooms, but locker rooms too in line with the gender identity they’ve chosen. If they don’t, it is suggested that federal funding might be withheld from the institution.
Topic 4 concerns an unnamed Los Angeles County (California) sheriff’s deputy who allegedly had too much to drink in Sacramento (California) while attending a ceremony honoring fallen LEOs. He got into a parked vehicle that didn’t belong to him while armed. The deputy was forcefully removed from the vehicle and disarmed by the vehicle owner and other citizens before being released. He was eventually stopped by Sacramento police and turned over to his supervisor. Quoted in this story is Sacramento Police Spokesman Officer Matt McPhail and Captain Christopher Reed.
Topic 5 concerns the California legislature that has approved seven (7) gun control bills. They include a requirement that people making homemade guns get a background check and apply for serial numbers, a workaround so stores can keep records on purchases of handgun ammunition, a ban on ammunition magazines holding more than 10 rounds and creating a firearm violence research center.
Topic 6 concerns the New York Police Department implementing a “textalyzer” device which will allow officers to determine whether a driver was texting at the time of an accident. Quoted in the story is New York Civil Liberties Union Director Donna Lieberman.
